I Am Changing My Cartridge And Get Error #1203 - What Is Wrong?

My previous cartrigdge was empty and I changed it out. It did the alignment page and it looked OK (blue and black only). I asked it to do a second one and now have this error.

  1. Remove the print cartridges, and close the cartridge carrier lids.

  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.

  3. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.

  4. If the power button is not lit, press button.

  5. Reinsert the print cartridges.

If the error does not reappear, the problem has been corrected.

If the problem reappears, one of the cartridges is not working properly. Continue with the following procedure to determine which cartridge is not working properly.

  1. Remove the print cartridges, and close the cartridge carrier lids.

  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.

  3. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.

  4. If the powe button is not lit, press power button.

  5. Reinsert the black (or photo) print cartridge.

  6. If the error:

    • Reappears, replace the black (or photo) print cartridge with a new one.

    • Does not reappear, reinsert the color print cartridge.

  7. If the error reappears, replace the color print cartridge with a new one.

Your print cartridge has a short.

  1. Press Power to turn your All-In-One off.
  2. Unplug your All-In-One from the wall outlet.
  3. Plug in your All-In-One.
  4. Reinstall the cartridges.
