Smudges

my e260dn is printing black smudges on the edges of paper, i've tried everything  from cleaning the inside to replacing the toner?

Black smudges along the edges of paper are common.  There are two possible causes:

1. Bad toner - since you replaced the toner, that is ruled out. 

2. The fuser is bad.  Unfortunately this is an expensive part (typically).  Call a licensed Lexmark printer repair center in your area for pricing.
