Recently Purchased A Leapster Gs. Cannot Open Battery Compartment.help

I had a hard time opening this as well for the first time. What i did was while i was pushing down on the arrows that are on the cover, I took a small screw driver(like for tightening your glasses) and put it in the crack and twisted just a bit to open half then i did the same to the other half. Once you have it open, use your screwdriver and push on the squishy pads that the tabs go in down. Do this a couple times. That should help for the next time. Hope that helps.
