My Son's Leappad 2 Will Not Recognize Cartridges

Of the 2 we have it only recognized one but now won't recognize either. It isn't the game since it works just fine in the GS. It is a little under a year old should I return it? I ran the repair through the site but that didn't change anything. I also cleaned the contacts and that didn't help. Please help!
