We Can't Seem To Register Our Leap Pad 2,

1) Begin with the LeapPad turned off and the LeapFrog Connect application running on your computer.
2) Hold down these three buttons at the same time:
- Right on the DPad (Since the device can be rotated two ways, the right arrow is on the right side of the DPAD when you are holding it in portrait mode)
- Home
- Down Volume
3) While holding down all 3 buttons , press the power button to turn the LeapPad on.
4) When it powers on, it will have an image of a LeapPad with a yellow triangle on the screen
5) Connect the LeapPad to the computer.

Please follow the steps below for the Repair/Reset after the Tune Up:

Open the LeapFrog Connect Application

1. Click Settings at the top of your screen.

2. To fix an issue with the LeapPad tablet, click Repair. To erase all files and game play data from the device, click Reset.

Note: The need to reset the LeapPad handheld is uncommon and is to be used with caution. It will erase ALL of the player names, game progress, play data, badges and Micromods from both the handheld and the LeapFrog Connect Application. You will need to create new player names on the handheld, and reconnect the LeapPad handheld to use the LeapFrog Connect Application.

3. Click Apply.

Mine still does that. Even the older Leapsters would freeze up my computer. The only thing that seems to help is

1.wait...   I don't think it's freezing up so much as it's just consuming your computer. Sometimes you just need to wait for it to work through it. I wouldn't go more than 5 minutes. I have 4GB of RAM and it slows down everything. My processor is better than my RAM so that's not the issue.

2.change the file settings- There are 2 things that may help. First, go to your control panel and go to Power Options. Your computer is probably on Balanced so your battery will last a little longer. Change it to High Performance. You can always change it back if you want to. You might not want to give up the extra power and speed.

The other setting you can try is your compatibility setting of the file. After I updated to Windows8 it was horrible. so...

Find the LeapFrog Explorer file.

Right click on it

Click on Properties

Click on the Compatibility tab

check the first and last box (compatability mode and run as administrator)

 under the first checked box select "Windows XP service pack 2"

click Apply

click Okay
