Our Start/pause Button Isn't Starting Any Wash Load;please Help!

Lg steam washer model: WM2688HNMA. Over the past few weeks, it has been taking several pushes of the start/pause button for the washer to actually start. It beeps as if it recognizes being pushed, and we've unplugged and replugged the washer to see if rebooting would solve the issue. It did not. Last night it finally decided to stop working completely. Any suggestions on how we can fix it ourselves??
