Motor Shaft.

I need to chenge the motor shaft on my KitchenAids food proccosser, but I'm not sure how!!! I tried to just pull up on it really hard, the tried hair dryer on high heat setting to loosen the shaft, did not work Removed the 4 screws in the bottom of the machine to get to the shaft that way but could not. Could you please help. Thank you. Michael.
