Frozen Screen

My kindle has frozen on the first page that comes on when you first purchase it. I have used it since I've received it as a birthday gift three weeks ago. I have tried to reset. I have charged it. Can I reset without losing my purchased books?

all you have to do is press the slide on/off button for like 20 sec. This happened to me right now and i was also searching the web for a way to turn it off. I just tryed it and it worked YAHA
