Kenmore 4027 Is Leaking From A Valve On Back

My 18 month old Kenmore 4027 front loading washer is pouring water out of a valve on back of machine. Please advise to causes?

I found I have the same problem intermittently. I believe it is a vent that runs from the top of the tub enclosure to the back of the unit. I am still puzzled as to why water would come out unless the pump is plugged or the computer is not turning the pump on.
