New Batteries, Yet Still Get Battery Low Message
Got the "battery low" message. Changed the batteries, it didn't go away. The thermostat now speaks to us telling us about this and says to press the "test" button. I cannot find this button. Furnace is still kicking on, yet I can't seem to reset the thermostat. I turned fan to "auto" and put function to "off". Still talking to us. Please advise.

3 sets of new batteries were installed. The reference to the manual does not tell me how to reset the thermostat, it tells me how to program it. How do I get it to stop talking to me and recognizing the new batteries (contacts have been cleaned, too)? Do I have to reset it by turning off my furnace manually and then restarting it manually?

How do I reset my hunter thermostat?Press and hold the Programs button, and at the same time press in the recessed Reset button with the tip of a ballpoint pen. Release the Reset button and continue holding the Programs button until the Reset Memory screen appears (then release the Programs button).

There is no test button. The test procedure is described at https://www.manualslib.com/manual/73828/Hunter-44550.html?page=18#manual. There is also the possibility that your new batteries were faulty.
