Why Does The Oven Pilot Go Out When The Set Temp. Is Reached?

The pilot stays lit until the oven is turned on. It reaches the set temp. and when the burner shuts off, the pilot also goes out. The temp. goes down until the thermastat tries to start the burner again, but the pilot is out and nothing will hapen.
