How To Downgrade To Xp From Windows 7 On Z600.

We have tried to downgrade using HP restore disks for Z600 and set bios settings under storage to IDE but does not work. Even tried using XP SP3 install disk but in both cases cannot find HDD? I know it is concerning SATA but nothing on web about it? Any ideas?
