Powering On, Cap Locks Flashes A Few Times, Nothing On Monitor. That's It.
Powering on my son's lap top. The cap lock key flashes a few times and the laptop is on, but nothing else happens.

Can be switched off accidently- try pressing the fn button, and f4 to change screen to internal/ external/both.
Can be a problem if switched off while in hibernation.
Could be the backlight has failed.
You can try connecting to an external monitor/screen via a vga lead- if that works it may well be the backlight.
