Hp Laserjet P Series Network Printers Installations

When we install HP P series network printer with first auto search the installation identifies the IP address of the NETBIOS printer, but when we restart the computer, the IP address which has been automatically identified during the first installation is disapperaring with next restart of the compuer

I suspect that it's due to the way your network is assigning addresses. You'll need to contact your network administrator.

The porinter "should" have a FIXED TCP/IP address and NOT an automatic one. Depending on how the network is set up the automatic addresses may be getting reset every 15 minutes and that can cause this exact issue.

Make sure the printer is NOT using DHCP to get it's address. You can see this from the configuration sheet you can print from the menu on the printer.

Leave another question if you want the steps to set the TCP/IP address or you can find it all at HP's web site. Just search on the printer model and "manual".
