There are two ways of installing a printer to your laptop, first you must install the printer's driver/sofware on your laptop using the installation CD, if the installation CD is not available then you have to download the printer's driver online and install it to your laptop. After this you need a usb cable to connect your laptop to your printer. if the usb is bad your laptop wonrecognise your printer and you will need to change the usb
