I Cannot Print As My Printer Is Supposedly Offline, Though I Can See It Is On!

The wireless and eprint lights are on, and connectivity is excellent, according to the printer. But the print dialogue box shows an error message saying that the printer is offline. I have recently added a new user account to my laptop (Windows 8) - can this be the cause? Do I need to install the driver software again?
