Can The Power Cord On Model Rc9990 Be Replaced With A Foam Cord From An Older On

The vinyl power cord for the Rc9990 is junk...it constantly twist itself up even when you reverse the handle....whoever decided to replace the foam cords for this harder vinyl one should be fired...I still have my older model Tiger Shark (serial number 9509846)....if not is there a newer flexible foam cord that the harder vinyl one can be replaced with
