Led Read Out On Hayward 250

When the pump is not on the readout reads LO, also the service lite is lit along with the standby lite. When the pump is running only the standby lite is lit. I am being told that this is the way that its supposed to be. i don't recall it being this way when it was first installed.Please advise. Thanks
