this may sound like im trying to be a smart ... but i assure you i am not , but take the mixer off the stand, put your hand on the platform and turn the whole thing over to see if it just falls off that way, some models come apart that way.
I do apologize for how my answer was worded, i assure you there was no "snarkyness" intended.
