Blades Not Making Contact With Base

Our blender's blades have stopped rotating due to lack of contact with the base / motor. The top container seems to be sitting correctly on the base. The base motor and blades run and spin. The blades in the container spin if you manually spin them. It jest seems that the things that are supposed to make contact between the base and the conainer are not making contact. Any tips or hints to fix? Thank you.
