Is It Possible To Sell An Item And Not Be Paid For It?

I sold a book on half.com 12/16/11 and my payment still says pending. Why is that? The buyer signed for the book a week ago.

On Half.com the buyer pays immediately or almost immediately after electing to purchase the item.  Payment is made by credit card and so a problem there would void the sale.

Half.com credits your account but does not immediately direct deposit into your checking account. There is a lag time of approximately 7 business days before your checking account actually receives the funds.

If for some reason you are seeing payment pending, it has nothing to do with the buyer - explaining why you saw tracking which indicated that the Buyer took delivery. The problem could be in a wrong number entered for your checking account.

Below is information from the Half.com website Help section:

"If you still have not received your payment, it is possible that the bank information you have on your account is incorrect. We recommend double checking this information by going to your "My Account" page and clicking on the "Seller Payment Method" link under the "My Account" header on the left side of the page. Make sure you are entering your routing number and account number exactly as your bank has it. There is helpful information on this page if you need help finding out what your routing or checking numbers are.

Please also note that if there is indeed a problem with your deposit and the deposit is returned to Half.com we will send you an email informing you of the problem. If your deposit has failed, please use the steps above to update your bank account information on file.  If you are having trouble updating your bank account on Half.com because you are not able to verify the current bank account on file, please contact Half.com Customer Service by using" this form.

In filling our the form please inquire about the payment PENDING as this wording is not used in any narrative by Half.com.

You can also use this Half.com Customer Service Contract form to ask the same question. In this form you much click on each box before being able to move to the next step.

Frankly, I'd use both forms to make sure that I received the same answer to both.
