Protective Film On Inside Of Over Door

I had the same question and wanted to remove the clear sticker on the inside of the door since it obscured the view so you couldn't see the food inside as it cooked. I called the Haier customer support line and they called me back a few days later and said they don't recommend peeling off the inside film, but i could if i wanted too. I asked if the film was there to prevent microwave energy from leaking out and they said no. So i took an exacto knife and carefully started to peel a corner of the sticker off. As i peeled the corner, i noticed that the inside of the door was not a solid pane of glass with a black grid printed on it but was actually like a screen with holes in it. Then i realized the sticker was there to prevent splattering food from getting inside the hollow door through the holes on the inside of the door! So i stopped peeling back the sticker and smoothed the corner back down. So i wouldn't recommend removing the sticker, unless you don't mind getting food inside the microwave door. If i had known this beforehand, i wouldn't have bought this microwave. Other microwaves that i've owned all had solid doors with clear windows that i could easily see inside. Not this one, poor design in my opinion.
