I Need A Manual For A Haier Performance Plus 6000btu Air Conditioner
the unit will not turn on, instead it flashes all lights and 88, then code E1 comes on, and nothing more.

As far as your problem. An 88 indicates a system self check. This will flash and than if your unit has a problem flash another error message which in your case is an E1.
E1 is a keypad error and is typically caused by two contacts being depressed at the same time. The most common cause of this is a defect in the plastic molding on your keypad causing bubbles to form. The easiest solution to this is to unplug the unit and depress each button for 7 seconds one at a time. This should move or eliminate the bubbles in the molding
