Can't Login Or Create A Google Account. Why?

I've been trying since I bought the phone earlier today. I cannot login or create a google account to access apps. It repeatedly tells me: Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server. I'm connected through my wifi. What the hell is this? I tried generating the code thing in my google account. Fail. I tried logging in with my own information. Fail. If I try to get an app, it immediately goes to the login or create a google account screen only to tell me the same thing after I attempt to login or create a new account. What is this.
