High Pitched Whining Sound.

Lowes has replaced our brand new washer twice and both washers make a high pitched, very aggrevating sound, when washing.  We love the concept of no agitator and the stainless steel tank.  Cannot wash clothes with that sound, so Lowes had us look at customer reviews and we saw where two out of a over 50 said it made noise others noted how quiet.  We have to know if this is what to expect this machine today.........we have to make a decision to return and purchase a different washer or not.  Our family has six members and we cannot be without a washer.  Hope to hear from you shortly.

I was told by a GE repairman when he came to look at our washer that "they are all loud because GE opted  to remove the insulation. He also said not to worry, you will get used to the loud squealing noise in about  6 month."  It has been about a year now, and I still can't be in the basement in my woodshop working with the washing machine running.  I end up with a migraine. He also said that he doesn't buy GE for that reason, and because they always break down.  We are being ripped off.  But, who cares as long as the fat man gets fatter right? Just another company assuming that their customers are too stupid to reallize that "this isn't suppose to do this".
