Why is my GE side by side refrigerator leaking water underneath?
If water appears on the floor in front of the refrigerator once or twice a day, it could be due to a clog in the defrost drain tube. The usual evidence of a clogged drain in a side-by-side refrigerator is ice under the bottom basket in the freezer compartment in addition to a puddle of water on the floor.
If you are experiencing a water leak on the side of your GE GSH25JSXSS refrigerator, there are a few things you can check to diagnose and fix the issue:
Check the water supply line: Make sure the water supply line that feeds into the refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker is securely connected and not damaged. If there is a leak in the supply line, it may cause water to leak out from the side of the refrigerator.
Check the water inlet valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the refrigerator. If the valve is damaged or clogged, it can cause water to leak out from the side of the refrigerator. You may need to replace the valve to fix the issue.
Check the defrost drain: If the defrost drain is clogged or blocked, it can cause water to back up and leak out from the side of the refrigerator. You can try clearing the drain by flushing it with hot water or using a pipe cleaner to remove any debris.
Check the door gasket: A damaged or worn door gasket can allow warm air to enter the refrigerator, causing excess moisture and condensation to build up. This can lead to water leaking from the side of the refrigerator. Check the door gasket for any cracks, tears, or signs of wear, and replace it if necessary.
If you are unable to identify and fix the issue yourself, it may be best to contact a professional appliance repair technician for further assistance.
