I Just Purchased A Garmin Nuvi 65lmt.

It came with no owners Manual, just a fold-up sheet of how to plug it into your auto or computer. I assumed that it needed the battery charged so, not knowing how long it needed for full charge I plugged it into my computer, a window opened with the Garmin logo and garmin.com/express and picture of unit plugged into computer nothing else. There was a Blue led arrow pointing up and I pressed it and nothing happened. Will I have to wait until battery is fully charged before I can get my Garmin to come on so I can start using it. I tried to turn it on after an hr plugged in using the power button and it would not come on,is there anything that I'm missing here?. I have A Tom-Tom and A Magellan GPS and the moment I plug either to my computer and depress the power switch a window of Icons appears. Any help you can provide appreciated.
