Greetings.
Custom Points of Interest (POIs), can be sent to a Garmin device with the POI Loader program. There are many sources for POIs.
With Custom POIs, the first step is to verify that POI Loader has confirmed the Custom POIs have been transferred to the device.
- This can be done by reloading the Custom POIs to see if there are any error messages.
- In Mass Storage devices, you can check the POI folder to make sure there is a GPI file.
- Some downloaded Custom POIs will have a UNL file for locked POI content.
Please check to verify if the Custom POIs are categorized and if they are, then make sure the correct category is selected when searching. If not, then try and search by the name of the Custom POI in the correct category.
If the previous steps do not return any results then check to see how far away the Custom POIs that are loaded are being searched for. If they are several hundred miles away, they will not show up even when searching by name. To find these points you will need to set your location near the Custom POIs and then search for them.
