Fuel Pressure

I have an intermittent problem with the fuel.  Sometimes my van will not start.  When it doesn't, I hook up a pressure guage to the fuel line and the pressure is zero.  After many attempts (sometimes days), the van will start again and of course the pressure in the fuel line returns to approx. 50 psi.  Then after working again for a period of time the pressure returns to 0 and we start over again.   Thank you.
