Hi taduyser – First, typically there is not a seal around the oven door glass. There is a door seal which is fairly easy to install/replace. The convection fan only comes on when the door is closed. There are 4 components that would prevent the convection fan from coming on: the convection fan, the main control board, the door switch, or the wiring between the main control board and the convection fan. However, the oven not operating properly could be the result of 3 components: the main control board, the oven igniter or the wiring between the main control board and wiring. Depending on the failure for each, the unit may or may not be worth the repair. I strongly recommending consider contact a certified technician to obtain a definitive diagnosis and estimated cost to repair.
