Friedrich Uni-fit Being Used In A Fedders A Wall Sleeve.
I have the Fedders Type A sleeve (27" W x 16.75" H and 16.75" D). And I am using it with a Friedrich - Uni-Fit.My question is regarding the (rear) louvered grille. The Friedrich manual insists on bending the original Fedders grill (with a plier) so that most of the vertical louvers are facing leftwards on the left - rather than the default Fedders grille have most of the louvers facing rightwards on the right.Is this absolutely necessary? 1) It would be extremely difficult to unscrew and remove the rear grille altogether and 2) it would be very difficult to reorient and bend the middle louvers to the opposite direction.(The Friedrich manual also says they should be bent on a 60 degree angle. It seems Fedders bent them either at 60 degrees or 45 degrees. I can't tell with certainty.)
