How To Replace Charcoal Filter In Frigidaire Gallery Model Fgmv 174kf Microwave

Good Afternoon Greatlil,

I understand that you want to know how to replace the charcoal filters in your Frigidaire Gallery microwave, model# FGMV174KF. The charcoal filter, which was installed in your microwave oven, is used for nonvented, recirculated installation. The filter should be changed every 6 to 12 months depending on use. To do so you will follow these instructions.

1. Disconnect power to the microwave oven at the circuit breaker panel or by unplugging.

2. Remove the three Hood Louver screws.

3. Tilt the hood louver downward and then pull it out so the bottom tabs become unlocked.

4. Pull the charcoal filter upward to remove from your oven.

5. Attach the charcoal filter to the upper side of the oven by sliding it into the tabs.

6. Carefully push the louver back into place and replace the screws removed in step 2.
