I understand you want to know if changing the water filter will fix the ice maker on your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FGHB2844LF5. There is a possibility that changing the water filter will make your refrigerator have ice production. If it has been more than 6-8 months since you have changed the filter, then I suggest changing the filter first.
