Overheating Problems With Fef316bq

I have two FEF316BQ electric ovens in two of my rental properties.  I am having the same issue with both ovens. 1.  When the oven is on, the top overheats and has burnt some plastic board left on the top.   2. There are smoke (burn marks, or orange heat coloration marks) along the back portion of the top cover (that is along the hinge where the top cover lifts up). Is this a common problem with this model, and is there any recall of this model?

I would contact the manufacturer's Resolution Department at 888-360-8556 to see if they have any updates to their brand recall list. Otherwise you will need a service tech to diagnose the unit, and see what else needs to be repaired other than the control panel and maybe a set of switches depending on what is damaged.
