WHAT WOULD MAKE THE DISHWASHER RUN FOR EXTENDED PERIOD (OVER 1 HOUR OR MORE)

According to the owners manual all wash cycles, with the exception of Rinse Only mode, are over an hour. Pots & Pans could be up to (or even slightly longer than) and hour and 45 minutes.
