Fridgidaire Electric Dryer Model Fase703lwo Not Starting

Our dryer is not starting and reads door open.  An error code did appear however disappeard and has not reoccured.  My husband has replaced the light/door switch as the light is also not coming on thinking this would correct the issue however, this did not solve the problem.  Please advise if this is the control board that would need to be replace and if so, the part number etc that I would need, or what could be the problem.  We would like to try to fix this ourselves prior to calling out a repair person as we overlooked the extended warranty,  Thank you, Julie

Hello Julie – Based on the symptoms you are describing it sounds like there is a possibility that a thermal fuse has tripped within the dryer. This is usually caused due to restricted venting. At this point, I would personally recommend contacting a professional for further evaluation and to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Its a bad thermal sensor. Look up how to read the diagnostics on the dryer. It conists of holding the buttons down on the front. I forget the details. You will have to unplug the dryer. Take off the top and back. The sensor is located on the exhaust vent inside the dryer. Follow the exhaust tube to the dryer the actual dryer exhaust is the round tube the exhaust vent hooks to. The sensor is small and black wigh two wires connecting to it pull the little wires off. It doesnt matter which wire goes to which connection stems. Unscrew the two little screws one it and simply replace the sensor. Reassemble the dryer. I think you have to reset the code by holding the buttons again look to see what buttons to push to reset it. Google the process and it will tell you how to do it
