Im Having Car Starting Problems, Not All The Time. The Dealer Can't Solve It.

When I try to start it sometimes it would be clicking for several seconds. I would turn the key 2 to 3 times and it will eventually start later. I let it sit for a few minutes and then I turn it on no problem. Other times it would turn on like there is no problem. Is there a recall on the 2005 Ford Taurus starter of ignition switch? Thank You

Could be your car key. If it has a small resistor chip in it, the chip can sometimes act up. The resistor chip completes the circuit to start the car. If the chip is dirty or worn, the car won't start.

The first solution is to wipe off your key with a cloth. If that doesn't work, try your spare key. If you don't have a spare, you will have to have a second key made for your car. I'm betting it's the key that's giving you trouble.
