Why Doesn't Facebook Have A Customer Telephone Support Service?

It appears that hundreds of people are unable to resolve issues with Facebook because there's no one with whom they can talk about their problems. The Facebook help center offers suggestions for certain issues, but when the suggestions don't work, there's no place else to turn.

As your question correctly observes, Facebook does not currently provide phone support. The reason is to avoid the huge labor costs that would otherwise accrue to what is after all a free service.
