I Have Been Trying To Log In To Facebook All Day And It Keeps Telling Me To Wait

I have been trying to log in to facebook all day and it keeps telling me to wait until later so I did and it still isnt working. How long until it works and why is it that only a handful of people cant access there account when the rest of the World can?

Facebook has over 500 million users.

The hardware required to manage that many accounts is massive. The databases alone are huge and they are on numerous machines scattered about the world.

The result is that there is no way they can maintain 100% uptime. Occasionally something must be taken offline for maintenance.

What you are experiencing is just site maintenance. The databases and/or the web servers and other hardware that manage your account are being serviced.

This type of work can take up to 24 to 48 hours to complete. One would think Facebook would have redundant clustered systems but that does not seem to be the case.

There could be other issues as well but since they are less than forthcoming on such things you will simply need to wait it out. They have no tech support phone number so there is no one you can call.

Also, the hacker group "anonymous" has threatened to knock Facebook off the Internet on November 5th coinciding with Guy Fawkes night. Hackers do occasionally attack Facebook but only occasionally succeed in doing any damage. This could also be a factor in what you're seeing

well, me too experienced that but i chose to wait for im fully aware that Facebook do have their maintenance time.. well for the betterment of your account.
