In Recent Activity The Ip Address And Location Are Not Mine. What Do I Do?

In "my account settings" under "account security/most recent activities", the IP address and location are not mine. What has happened and what should I do?

Are you absolutely sure it's not yours? Your ISP is providing you with a DHCP address which changes every 15 minutes or so (depending on ISP).

This address will not be what you see when you check the IP address on your PC, but it is what Facebook will see.

Go here to see what IP address your ISP has assigned to you: http://www.whatsmyip.org/

If you do have a static address then I recommend you change your password ASAP to something really secure and see what happens. Also make sure your recovery options are set properly.

How are you sure that the IP is not yours? Most of the internet service providers provide dynamic IP which gets changed for every certain period of time or it gets changed om every reboot. So the IP you have now may differ from the records. You can check the change in your IP by having ab IP lookup at http://www.ip-details.com/ before and after resetting your modem.

If you have a Static IP , Then it is an alert for you. Change your password immediately.
