How Do You Delete One Old Facebook Account Without Deleting Current One?

it acts as though im 2 different people and claims its the same email, but it was originally different email afddresses...please help...i try to set my account settings to privacy, and it lets the OLD acct with 5 friends, but wont allow me privacy settings on current account w 186 friends...hmm..im afraid if i delete the old one, it will delete either both, or the wrong one.
