Yes. Your chat goes to your inbox when you close out the conversation box.

Therefore, when you delete a message from your Inbox (whether from chat conversations or a message) it gets stored in your Archives, which can be accessed by clicking on the "more" icon located on your Inbox page and clicking "Archived".
