Dynex Dx-b7port Fails On Start-up/restart

I'm using a DX-B7PORT hub with my Macintosh G4 (OS 10.4.2) and a new Macally keyboard. On start-up or when restarting, my keyboard isn't recognized until I reseat its cable into the hub. I know the problem isn't with the keyboard as it works fine when plugged into the Mac's USB port. I prefer to use the hub so I need to know — does this sound like I need to replace the hub or is there another fix for this problem?

If you have gone through the appropriate setup steps in the included documentation, and still have the issue, I would recommend taking the item and receipt, back to the place of purchase to pursue warranty options.
