For the best picture quality use a HDMI cable to connect the tv & dvd if you have available open ports. It provides the best AV with one cable.

Hi, I would be happy to assist you with connecting your DVD player. It will not be connected to the DVR but directly to the TV using either a Component (RED/BLUE/GREEN/RED/WHITE) or an RCA cable (RED/YELLOW/WHITE)depending on what the TV has available.
