Hello this is Kimberly Escobar with DISH Network customer support. I just ran through you post and would like to help you out by providing you with the information you need. To address a remote to a TV the majority of the time we do it using a code that integrates into the remote allowing it to interact with the functions of the TV itself. The message you get on the screentelling you the remote is now set to control your TV etc. is only a mode reminder, just letting you know the remote should be always on sat mode to avoid other issues. The codes vary depending on what brand of tv you have. If the code doesn't get the remote programmed to the TV you can always try a power scan.
