Hi, all DVD players are connected the same, you will need to run a cable from the DVD player to the TV itself. This should not affect your receiver at all. RCA cables should work best as long as there is a connection on the DVD player as well as the TV. Then you will need to cycle through the inputs on the TV to switch between your DISH system and the DVD player. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please email me directly. Thank you!
