I have an older Dish receiver. Can I get service without a 2- year contract ?

Hi Cameron,

If you want to restart services, and already have the equipment, you can start an account without requiring the 24 month commitment. I do want to note that some receivers are considered obsolete, and can not be activated, so be sure to have that checked before hand.

For active services, a leased receiver upgrade does require a new 24 month commitment. However you can avoid the commitment by purchasing it, instead of leasing. You can find receivers to purchase directly through us, or even through retailers (such as dishstore.net). Please feel free to email any additional questions to me directly.
