How Do I Get Dv (firewire) Into The Xps L701x ?
I purchased a Dell XPSL701 PC with the sole purpose of being able to edit on it.
I now find there is not a firewire socket or an express card slot, just a sd card slot.
How am I supposed to get video into this laptop does anyone know?

Dell, in their wisdom, assumes that everyone will nowadays, only have a hardrive based camcorder and they will advise that you get a usb to firewire adaptor, which ofcourse doesn't and never will work.
I bought the same high end model, assuming that it would have everything from the lower Dell models and more, but Dell removed the firewire Port on the XPS series, wheras lower spec models, DID include the FireWire !
PC World confirmed that your model doesn't include an PCMIA port, so you cant even get a firewire socket fitted by accessing the Motherboard
If you have bought it withing the 14 days cooling off period, contact them and send it back at once.
