Assuming u r running something later then windows xp (when u bought it) I would not suggest doing this, as u may or may not have issues with hardware (but this depends if there r drivers for the N5050s' ), so i suggest u contact dell about. It doesnt take tht long to ask either as DELL chat support is usually open and answer questions fast. But other then tht all u have to do is put a windows xp disc inside the disc tray and boot into it using ur "boot menu" key (which differs brand to brand; i think its F12 for DELL) and simply install it. But remember before installing, to check up with DELL chat support and ask if the N5050 would function properly with Windows XP.

Hi SergiBcjvgmb,

Please refer to the link given below for steps on how to install Windows XP by using a disk:

http://dell.to/1aQjzyn

You can also refer to the Dell Article 52068 on http://dell.to/XULgT1

Note – Please ensure that you backup important data on an external storage device before performing the steps to reinstall Windows as it leads to data loss and all applications installed on the system would be lost as well.

Please respond for further assistance.

Thanks & Regards
Rathish C
