Make sure that you have the most recent Dell driver loaded. They can be downloaded here: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=555&l=en&s=biz&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSPIRON_N4010&os=W764&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Without the correct drivers you will only be able to use generic resolutions available with the default Windows drivers.

There are two video chips possible, Intel and AMD. It's safe to try both drivers, only one will load, the other will not even install.

Oncve the driver is in you will be able to adjust the resolution in Windows as you see fit all the way to full resolution. I assume you know to right click the desktop and select "Propertiers" and then "Advanced" on the "Settings" tab to adjust the resolution.
